Review || Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation and Healthy Balance Unifying Powder

Bourjois makes their debut to Malaysia on June 2014. It is a famous and trusted brand in UK. I knew about this brand through Lisa Eldridge's YT channel. She loves the foundation so much. Thus, I bought my foundation based on her recommendation. I bought two of their face products which are Healthy Mix Serum Foundation and Healthy Balance Powder.




Healthy Mix Serum Foundation

I'm in love with this foundation. It is a little bit pricey-er than the original Healthy Mix Foundation. It cost me RM57.90 per bottle. You get a good size of 30 ml and it came with a pump. The bottle it a plus point to me as it do not take up much space. I can fit it into my mini drawer of makeup. It is light in weight so that it is easy for travel. I don't really like bringing glass bottle foundation for travel. It is heavy. Healthy Mix Serum Foundation have a gel-like consistency. It is easy to work with and the smell! Please. I'm a sucker at this. I love the smell so much!

It offers light - medium coverage and a semi-matte finish. It works best on prep-ed skin. Sometimes it does cling on my dry patches provided that my dry patches are horrid. It does stays on the skin for a good 8 hours. I personally never experience wearing makeup for more than 8 hours. This doesn't cause me breakout.




Healthy Balance Unifying Powder

In the search of a good long lasting mattifying powder, I take the risk to try this. This cost me RM 43.90. That is a lot for a powder. But, I feels it is worth to invest on this powder because I happened to not like the previous two powder by Maybelline and Catrice. Oh, I am ruining the review. As you girls can guess, I like this powder very much. It didn't give a lot of coverage. I like it because I do not search for any high coverage powder anyway.

The texture is very soft and the smells is just great! If you love Healthy Mix Foundation's scent, you will be liking this too. It doesn't come with any applicator. You have to have your own applicator. I like using brush as it only gives me low coverage and it helps mattify my skin. At the same time, it does not give me any flat matte look. I can still see the dewy finish that my foundation gives me.

In terms of lasting power, I do find it stays for quite a long time. I normally would keep my makeup for 8 hours max. I normally do not bother to touch up my powder. It do not stay matte like the first couple of hours but it does help keep my skin healthy.

Overall, I totally highly recommend Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder and Healthy Mix Serum Foundation to everyone. It doesn't cause me breakout and it stays on the face for a nice 8 hours at least.

Review || Super Wow Stick - Maria from I Heart Makeup Makeup Revolution

Hello there!

I should had mention that I am a lippy girl. I have a lot of lipsticks and there are some lipsticks that have the same colour but gives a different finishes. I love lipsticks sooo much and I really love bold colour lips. Recently, I purchased a lipstick called Super Wow Stick from I Heart Makeup which is a sister company of Makeup Revolution. I am interested in the shade Maria while I am watching a swatch video on YT.

Pardon me with the pixelated images. I do not wish to reveal the colour on my lips just yet. 

This is what the box looks like.

The packaging is very slim for a lipstick. The size is slimmer than the normal lip jumbo / lip crayon sold in the market.

The size is just perfect for the lips. Since it is a dark colour, I can easily line the lips and fill it in using the same product. I don't need and lip liner to get the job done.

The colour swatch smooth on the hand but it is a bit drying on the lips. I suggest applying lip balm / olive oil before applying this lipstick. It have a matte finishes and the colour does not transfer. I personally like this colour but I am not brave enough to wear it on its own. I think this could help in making an ombre lips. It could be blend with either red,plum or even pink. I end this post with lip swatch of this colour for better view.

Review || I Heart Chocolate Eyeshadow Palette by I Heart Makeup

I guess many of you knew about Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette. And if you guess I bought one, you're wrong. I bought the dupe of the palette! I watch sooooo many YT videos on this palette and they all says that I Heart Chocolate by I Heart Makeup is the dupe for Too Faced Chocolate Bar. You can watch it here or you can even read it here. Okay, enough with the dupe, lets jump into the review.

This is how it came when I purchased it.

I do not fancy the packaging. It is okay but the chocolate bar took a lot of space. But, it does suits the chocolate theme.

The moment I open this palette, I smells chocolate! Who doesn't like chocolate anyway? Anyway, you get 16 eyeshadows in this palette and 2 of them are bigger than the other. I guess it is the base or highlight colour. It also came with a full sized mirror! I love it sooo much. It really help me in applying my makeup and it is easier for me to travel with the palette without worrying about mirror. 

It came with a clear plastic film with the name of each eyeshadow printed on it. I like it when the eyeshadow have their own names. 

These are the colours you get. Most of them are neutral colours. There are combination of matte, shimmer and glitter in one palette. There are 6 matte eyeshadows, 2 glitter eyeshadows, and 8 shimmer eyeshadows.

The colours are very pigmented. Light hand needed in handling this shadows or else you can easily overdone it. Due to the high pigmentation, you can get many application with it. It is easy to blend and smooth to the touch. 

The colour stays on the lid and it can last up to 8 hours without creasing. I do not use any eye primer. You might get longer stay power if you apply an eye primer before putting on the eyeshadow.

Review || Maybelline White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder

Hello there!

I am in the middle of seeking a new face powder. Previously I only use Silky Girl Magic Face Powder and now I am looking for a more appropriate powder to top my foundation. I've tried Catrice Cosmetics' All Matt Plus powder which I reviewed it here. Then, I came across this face powder by Maybelline. It claims that it will give a 12 hours bright matte look without feeling cakey.

I get mine in 03- Natural. It have SPF 34 PA+++. It is a plus point to include sun protection in the powder. This powder is refillable. Another plus point! I love the sleek packing. But you have to be careful. You might stain the surface with other products.

But, this powder is not for me. I guess it is not suitable to be applied on top of foundation as it does cake my face and it is also enhance my dry patches even though I apply it using brush with a light hand. Maybe it is meant to be use alone without foundation beneath. And since I have combination skin, I felt that this powder will suits girls with oily skin. It does mattifies and it is long lasting. I do not recommend this for people with dry skin. It will not help you getting the radiant you want.

Review || Catrice Cosmetics

Hello there!

Have you heard about Catrice Cosmetics? Through a mini research done by my not so little fingers, Catrice cosmetics and Essence cosmetics are sisters. That's explains a lot in terms of the display layout, the design of the products and also the price. I believed that Catrice cosmetics get their way in Malaysia's market about 3 months ago. They teamed up with Guardian (the drugstore) to sell their products. Thus, you can only get these exclusively in Guardian.

I got excited when I see one of my Instagram friend post about this brand. Each time I saw Guardian, I will go in the store - without fail - and I can't stop admiring all the products. It seems promising! I manage to get 5 items from them.

1) Velvet Matt Eye shadow - 040 Burgundy

2) Liquid Metal Eye shadow - 030 We Are The Champagnes

3) Eye Brow Stylist - 040 Don't Let Me Brow'n

4) All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder - 010 Transparent

5) Allround Concealer palette (not in picture)

Velvet Matt Eye shadow - 040 Burgundy

I really really like this eye shadow. The shadow feels buttery when I swatch it. It is a very pigmented eye shadow. I can swatches the colour up to 3 times before it fades. It is a long lasting shadow. It does not crease on my lids. Although it claimed that this is a matte shadow, I do find that it have a fine gold shimmer in it. But still, the colour payoff is amazing! However, you will have a little fallout if you are not careful. 

Liquid Metal Eye shadow - 030 We Are The Champagnes

This shadow is another hit product carried by Catrice cosmetics. It stays on the lids like nobody's business. Just look at the swatch. Kill me! It is the most gorgeous champagne colour ever! I feels that it is best to use my finger to apply this on my lids. Brushes doesn't do its justice!

Eye Brow Stylist - 040 Don't Let Me Brow'n

I find it handy to have the product on one end and a spooley on the other because the last thing you want it a very harsh brow that looks like a drag queen. The texture is perfect. It is not too creamy and not too hard. Although the colour looks like dark brown, when I apply it, it appear greyish to black. The colour matches my brow and I gave it a thumbs up. I noticed that Catrice sells brow fillers. It could be fun to try the fillers.

All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder - 010 Transparent

I am in the search for a good mattifies powder. I bought this because this is the only brand that offers transparent powder that I can find. I didn't swatch the powder cause it doesn't have any colour at all. it just help to keep the shine away. Unfortunately, this powder is a total miss. It does mattify the skin but after a couple of hours, my skin looks like a mirror. Oh my! I have to touch up more than 5 times in 8 hours duration. I do not recommend this powder.

Allround Concealer palette

I do not have my own picture of this baby because I passed it to someone else. I like the concept that Catrice put in their concealer palette. It have green for neutralizing the dark circle, pink to fight redness, and 3 shades of actual concealer which it can be mix to find the perfect tone for each users. However, this palette does not work on me. My dark under eyes is soo dark that this concealer and corrector can't do the job. My friend however seems to like it. It works on her.

All in all, I would recommend their eyeshadows. It is superb! I can say that the eyeshadows are all hit products. They also have eyeshadow quad which they have the same colour in their single eyeshadow range and put it in a palette. It is cheaper. But the down side of it, you can't customize the colour according to your liking. You can find Catrice cosmetics in selected Guardian store.
